The creative writing course I'm starting this week is one I'm taking as a student. I swap tutor and student hats regularly, but I gave up my fiction writing tutoring because I felt my brain was spending too long in editor mode and it was becoming harder and harder to write crappy first draft. I also had a crisis of confidence when my novel was rejected and I began to feel I had no right telling anyone how to improve their writing when I clearly didn't know what would sell. :(
So I'm back being a student again and hope that the writing tasks required by the course will get me back into a regular writing habit.
