pameladlloyd: Alya, an original character by Ian L. Powell (Default)
This evening, at 6pm Pacific (9pm EST) I am attending the Interfictions 2 Second Life Salon (SLURL: <ahref="http://slurl.com/secondlife/pini/16/222/42">http://slurl.com/secondlife/Pini/16/222/42). I created an avatar in Second Life specifically for the event and was fortunate enough to get a cool name: Pemala Galaxy (Pamela Galaxy was already taken; last names are limited to specific lists by Second Life; http://www.slnamewatch.com/ gives you a bit more control over your last name than the Linden Labs option).

The panelists include:
- Delia Sherman (co-editor)
- F. Brett Cox (Nylon Seam) – Read Online at the Annex
- Cecil Castellucci (The Long and Short of Long-Term Memory)
- Carlos Hernandez (The Assimilated Cuban’s Guide to Quantum Santeria)
- Will Ludwigsen (Remembrance is Something Like a House)
- Ray Vukcevich (The Two of Me)
- Tammy Domike (host, Jackson Street Books)

I'll post more after the event, although I can't promise is will be tonight.

We have a gorgeous etching up for sale on eBay. Even if you don't want to buy, please take a look and share this with your friends. Thank you!

UPDATE: Sadly, our etching didn't sell. It will be going back up and, knowing my husband, probably at a lower starting bid. This etching is truly beautiful and I wish we could keep it, but selling antiques and beautiful, rare items online is how my husband is currently keeping our family fed.
