Today's National Geographic Picture is a closeup of vividly-colored acid raindrops. An example of beauty, however ephemeral, that is harmful.

No way to show you the image here, short of copying it and it's under copyright, so I linked. But, the link will only show this image today and anyone clicking it later will see something else. I still wanted to share to the extent I could.

Definitely beautiful...but I wouldn't want to stand under that stormcloud.

Yes. But, I can remember when acid rain was in the news a lot. It's my understanding that it's not nearly the problem, at least in this part of the world, that it used to be. I like thinking that, when we recognize a problem, we can fix it. At least some of the time.
