pameladlloyd: Alya, an original character by Ian L. Powell (Blodeudd)
In response to [livejournal.com profile] sartorias' post: Castle Tour?, I've just uploaded a number of photographs that I took during my family's trip to the United Kingdom in 1882 and 1983. These photos, along with a few others I'd previously uploaded, are in my Travel Photos - UK - 1982-83 gallery. I'm displaying a few here, as a sneak preview.

I can see, now that they're against a dark background, that I need to crop them a bit, but I'm not going to do that today.

Today's National Geographic Picture is a closeup of vividly-colored acid raindrops. An example of beauty, however ephemeral, that is harmful.

No way to show you the image here, short of copying it and it's under copyright, so I linked. But, the link will only show this image today and anyone clicking it later will see something else. I still wanted to share to the extent I could.

I came across this lovely, evocative photograph when I chanced upon [livejournal.com profile] faeriemaiden's LJ Community [livejournal.com profile] banui_graphics and followed a link to her photographs on deviantART:

The Pool of Sight

I half expect a frog with a ball in its mouth to appear in a moment, although the caption/title is more suggestive of a seer. Either way, it's a beautiful photo.
