I think it's cute that your husband did two left shoes before committing to doing a right shoe. And actually, it makes good sense.

Yeah, it makes sense. Why, if he's not satisfied with one of the pair should he continue with its mate? But, I think he's really happy with the last shoe, even though he's jumped over to hats for the moment. In this, he's acting kinda like a writer who's in the middle of one story, when another story idea comes blazing through and just has to get written. He'll eventually get back to the first project, but for the moment he's completely occupied.
