Okay, here are a few more photos (also under the cut), this time from our trip to Wales. These are all essentially landscapes (no people).

Looking into Wales just after crossing the border from England, 1983 Mountain views just after crossing the border from England into Wales
We'd just come over the top of the mountains into Wales and suddenly the landscape was very different from that in England. In the foreground, you can see the craggy rocks and the scraggly ground cover, with a more pastoral countryside in the background. I'm not sure now if this was facing West, into Wales, or East, into England. The latter, I suspect.
BTW -- anyone who knows what that ground cover is, please let me know. Thx!
Welsh Pony #1 Welsh Pony #1
There were at least two or three of them around us, but the only photo I've got with more than one in the image was missing one of the ponies' heads, so I cropped the entire phony out.
Welsh Pony #2 Welsh Pony #2
We were very taken by the Welsh ponies.
Welsh Coastline #1 Welsh Coastline #1
I'm pretty sure this was taken in Wales, based on the placement in my photo album and what I remember of the trip, but the photo wasn't annotated, so this could have been taken elsewhere on the journey. (If so, it was probably in Scotland.) I wish I could remember the name of the village we spent the night in. Our B&B was much more picturesque than the buildings in the background, here, but I don't seem to have a photo of it.

If you look closely, there's what appears to be a bench for sitting, out on that rocky bit before the ocean starts in earnest. I wonder if the ocean spray would splash over the bench.

Thank you. I'm actually never satisfied with my landscape photos. The images never match the beauty I saw when I was there.

But, maybe it's easy to understand why I want to return. Of course, I also want to do research *g*, so I need to stay for far longer than the usual tourist trip. Unfortunately, I can't get away, just at the moment.

Love the patchwork farmland--reminds me so much of when we were there! And the Welsh coastline does remind me of the Dorset coastline.

Hello, I've popped over the look at the photos you mentioned.

I can confirm that Welsh Coastline #1 is definitely Wales. It's the Aberystwyth sea front with the distinctive Cliff Railway going up Constitution Hill in the background. I went to university in Aber and as it's only about an hour's drive away, we still visit a couple of times a year.

Welcome, HeleninWales!

Thank you for the confirmation on the location of the photo. Although I had great plans for my trip diary and my photos, somehow traveling with an infant got the best of me and I didn't keep good records. (Of course, there's no guarantee I would have done any better if I hadn't had my son along. *g*)
